My family went a few years ago and bought the first piece to a beautiful nativity. We've then been adding a piece or two each year since. It has become an incredible reminder not only to us, but to our friends and extended family as well. It is also such a warm addition to our home during the Christmas season.

At our house we have a "mix and match" nativity from individual pieces collected over the years.  It's not Martha Stewart approved, but it is meaningful to us...

Yes, we've become quite good at mixing and matching as well. I've found that as a wonderful way to make things more unique to our home. I'm sure you have lots of great memories adding pieces to your nativity as well.
